Campaign: learning the gestures that save

Wednesday, June 23, the hospital group Paris-Saint-Joseph proposes a day of awareness of the gestures that save. Free for all, this day will offer workshops to train the public in first aid. (News of 22/06/10)

  • In France, it is estimated that 10,000 lives could be saved if 1 in 5 people knew what to do in an emergency. But only 7% of French people are capable of providing this care in the event of a serious accident.
  • In view of this, the hospital group Paris-Saint-Joseph took the initiative to open its doors to the public, for a day of awareness, free for all, to the actions that save.

What actions to take in an emergency?

From 10 am to 4 pm, this day will be organized around practical workshops to teach parents, children and professionals in the early years, the actions to be taken in case of emergency. For example :

  • Know the maneuver Heimlichin case of suffocation. Participants will learn how to bring the necessary pressure to the abdomen to avoid the worst.
  • Use a semi-automatic defibrillator in case of cardiac arrest.
  • Adapt your actions to the accidents of everyday life. The public will learn how to react to a cut, burn or bleeding.
  • Compose a first aid kit. A good idea before the holidays!

See you Wednesday, June 23 in the lobby of the hospital group Paris-Saint-Joseph, 185, rue Raymond-Losserand, Paris 14th.
